CURAFLO® OF BRITISH COLUMBIA COMPLETES SUCCESSFUL WATER INFRASTRUCTURE RESTORATION FOR FAIRVIEW MANOR IN VANCOUVER
Proprietary System Proves Faster and Less Costly Than Traditional Repiping Methods

BEACHWOOD, OHIO – CuraFlo® of British Columbia Ltd. (“CuraFlo of British Columbia”), a leading provider of pipe restoration services for multi-tenant buildings and other commercial and institutional structures, has successfully restored the water infrastructure system at Fairview Manor in Vancouver with its proprietary epoxy lining system, the CuraFlo Engineered Flow Lining System®.

The three-story, 59-unit Fairview Manor apartment complex was constructed in 1976 and has a plumbing system comprised of copper piping. Over time, multiple pinhole leaks have formed in the hot and cold water supply lines, and pipe fractures have occurred as the building’s foundation has settled. Consequently, leaks formed in both resident suites and common areas. Management also faced the prospect of further system degradation, given the building’s foundational issues.

Fairview Manor is home to many elderly residents who remain in their units during a substantial portion of the day and night. The process of replacing existing pipes, therefore, would have severely inconvenienced these residents. As a cost-effective and less-invasive alternative to pipe replacement, CuraFlo of British Columbia’s epoxy lining can be installed with little or no downtime, and with minimal disruption to residents. Additionally, CuraFlo’s proprietary epoxy lining process is designed to ensure optimal water flow, pressure and quality, as well as prevent future leaks and corrosion.

Beginning in late 2008, CuraFlo of British Columbia restored Fairview Manor’s hot, cold and hot water recirculation pipes through its epoxy lining process and installed flexible links on each riser to prevent further fractures. The CuraFlo team then replaced all diverts in the building with new anti-scald faucets to ensure that the aging residents could operate their faucets safely.

“Fairview Manor’s management team considered several options. In the end, they appreciated our established track record with a variety of multi-family, commercial and institutional installations, and the ease of installation that the CuraFlo system offers,” said Randy Christie, Sales and Marketing Manager, CuraFlo of British Columbia. “They also valued our ability to provide a cost-effective solution that met the unique foundational challenges that they face.”

In addition to a full array of infrastructure rehabilitation services, CuraFlo’s epoxy pipe lining solutions are widely renowned for alleviating problems with deteriorating pipes and plumbing systems. In many instances, this proves a highly effective alternative to pipe replacement. In fact, pipes restored with CuraFlo’s epoxy lining can gain an additional service life of 40-60 years or more.
